On Friday, May 28th, Ventura County Sheriff Bob Brooks presented Mike Powers, Director of the Ventura County Health Care Agency (HCA), with a resolution for compassion, professionalism, and superior care. The care was provided by the Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) to Deputies Beau Rodriguez and Bill Meixner after the serious traffic accident they were involved in on April 17, 2010 that left them both in critical condition. Both deputies are recovering extremely well and are no longer hospitalized. Senior Deputy Meixner, Deputy Rodriguez, and their families were all on hand for the presentation.

Sheriff Brooks noted that not only was the quality of medical care outstanding, the accommodating manner of all the HCA staff was remarkable. The family members and numerous other visitors were always made to feel welcome. “The professional and competent atmosphere the staff created reassured everyone that the deputies were in excellent hands,” commented Sheriff Brooks.

The Sheriff’s Department would like to thank the outstanding staff at the Ventura County Health Care Agency and the public for all of their ongoing support and concern.
