On January 9, 2009, two men approached the owner of Wrights Market as he arrived for work at 4:50 A.M. One of the subjects displayed a handgun and the second searched both victim and the victim’s vehicle for property. After removing some property, which included the victim’s wallet and credit cards, both suspects fled the area on foot.

Within an hour of the robbery, the victim’s credit cards were used at various gas stations and fast food restaurants in the cities of Santa Paula and Ventura. Gang investigators identified one of the subjects using the credit cards as Adam Gonzalez. Sheriff’s gang investigators also identified Angel Aguirre as being a suspect in the robbery.

On January 28, 2009, gang investigators located Aguirre at a residence in the 1000 block of South G Street in the City of Oxnard and he was arrested as he left the residence. During the search of the residence on G Street, a loaded handgun was found. Aguirre has a prior conviction for violent felonies and is prohibited from possessing firearms.

On the same day, gang investigators served a search warrant in the 300 block of Dartmouth, Santa Paula. During the initial search, two male juveniles were contacted.
