Arturo Aguilar, Oxnard, 32

Sheriff’s narcotics investigators received information that Arturo Aguilar of Nyeland Acres was involved in methamphetamine sales from his residence. Investigators obtained a search warrant for Aguilar and his residence, and on June 25, a surveillance team observed Aguilar drive from his residence with a young male in the car. Detectives contacted Aguilar and found that the passenger was Aguilar’s 10-year-old son. During the stop, detectives learned that Aguilar had given a quantity of methamphetamine to his son to hold in order to avoid being arrested himself. Aguilar was subsequently arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, child endangering, and utilizing a minor to sell narcotics. He was booked into the Sheriff’s Main Jail. Approximately 16 grams of methamphetamine was recovered during the investigation.
