Santa Paula Police Department

On Saturday 06/25/13 officers responded to the report a lewd and lascivious act involving an 11 year old victim. Upon arrival patrol officers conducted a investigation and the case was turned over to detectives. After a short but thorough investigation by detecitves Alfonso Gonzalez, age 58 of Santa Paula, was arrested for 288(a) PC - lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 years old. Further investigation revealed the suspect's wife, Penny Gonzalez, age 52 of Santa Paula, had attempted to pursuade/intimidate the victim about the incident. Penny Gonzalez was arrested for 136.1(c)(2) PC - pursuading/intimidating a witness.

Both suspects were transported to Ventura County Jail. A bail increase was requested for Alfonso Gonzalez in the amount of $500,000 and Penny Gonzalez's bail is $50,000. It should be noted that Alfonso Gonzalez is a current sex registrant as listed on the website www.meganslaw.ca.gov.
