The Thousand Oaks Police Department / Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and FBI arrested Newbury Park resident, Verl Darvin Chaney, age 52, for possessing child pornography. The investigation began in May of 2011, when an undercover detective of The Thousand Oaks Police Department / Internet Crimes Against Children Unit using a publicly available file-sharing program observed that Chaney was electronically sharing illegal child pornography.
