The Camarillo Police Department’s Community Resource Unit is hosting an “Identity Theft- Fraud Prevention Day on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011. The event will take place at the Camarillo Police Department, 3701 E. Las Posas Road Camarillo, between 10 AM - 4 PM.

The event will include a class on ID Theft-Fraud prevention for Camarillo residents. The class will be presented by the Crime Prevention Officer and the Ventura County Credit Union. Topics to be covered include, ID Theft, Scams, and various types of Fraud. The class will run from
10 AM to 12 PM. Please call 805-388-5130 to register for the class. The class is limited to 50 people and will be held in the Community Room at the Camarillo Police Department. There is no fee for this class.

From 12 PM to 4 PM, residents will be able to have documents shredded at the Camarillo Police Department. RSI shredding services will be conducting the shredding and no appointment is necessary. Through a partnership with RSI, there is no fee for this service for Camarillo residents (up to 12 grocery bags full of documents). The shredding will be conducted in the Camarillo Police Department's parking lot.

In addition, from 12 PM to 4 PM, residents will be able to dispose of unused and expired prescription drugs (no syringes or needles) in the Camarillo Police Department’s prescription drug drop off receptacle.
