SACRAMENTO - Governor Jerry Brown today issued the following statement regarding the death of Los Angeles Fire Department Firefighter Glenn Allen:

“Anne and I offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and fellow firefighters mourning the loss of Glenn Allen. Glenn dedicated his life to protecting the people of Los Angeles, serving in the city’s fire department for decades. In this time of great sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with those who had the honor and privilege of knowing and working with Glenn.”

Glenn Allen, 61, was gravely injured when the ceiling collapsed during a house fire in the Hollywood Hills Wednesday, February 16, 2011 and died of his injuries on Friday.

In honor of Firefighter Glenn Allen, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
