Gonzalez found guilty on four counts of child molestation

District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Alfonso Gonzalez (DOB 1/23/1955), has been found guilty of four counts of child molestation after a 2 ½-week jury trial. The jury returned verdicts of guilt on three counts of committing lewd acts upon a minor and one count of oral copulation against a minor, and found the special allegation that the defendant committed substantial sexual conduct against the victim to be true.

The crimes took place in 2012 and 2013 in the city of Santa Paula and Lake Casitas when the victim was aged 10 and 11. The victim referred to the defendant as “Papa” and looked to him as a father figure, although they were not related.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 17, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. before Superior Court Judge Gilbert Romero. The defendant faces a minimum of 50 years to life in state prison.
