On March 4th , 2011, the victim was confronted by five subjects after playing a game of basketball. The suspects surrounded the victim and said they had felt disrespected. The suspects ordered the victim to give them his personal property. Fearing for his safety, the victim complied with the suspects’ demands. After taking the property, the suspects fled the area.

Within the next week, members of the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit were able to positively identify four of the five suspects. During the investigation, it was determined that the suspects are documented members of a local criminal street gang.

On March 16th, 2011 several specialized units within the Office of the Sheriff served four search warrants and located three of the suspects. They were subsequently arrested and booked for violations of 211PC / Robbery and 186.22 PC / Street Terrorism. Two suspects are still outstanding and the investigation is continuing.
