Deputies responded to a call of an injury traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of Worth Way and Upland Road, in the City of Camarillo. The accident resulted in pedestrian, Laurie Perr, being struck by a commercial truck. The victim and a friend were exercising by walking in their neighborhood. As the victim stepped off the curb at Worth Way, a truck making a right turn struck her, and she sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:46 p.m. Assisting with the accident were the Ventura County Fire Department, American Medical Response (A.M.R.), Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Sheriff’s Chaplin.

As a result of the accident a portion of Upland Road between Mission Oaks Blvd. and Woodcreek Road was closed for approximately 6 hours, while traffic was diverted around the area.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident, and who has not yet come forward, is asked to contact the Camarillo Police Department’s Traffic Bureau.
