Fatal Collision – Solo Vehicle into a Tree

This morning, at approximately 5:05 AM, a vehicle traveling southbound on Westlake Boulevard left the roadway and struck a tree in the center median. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. His identity will not be provided until notification of next of kin.

At this time, the cause of the collision is unknown, however speed is a potential factor. The collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department’s Traffic Bureau. Anyone who may have information concerning the accident is asked to call the Traffic Bureau at 805-494-8271.

The Thousand Oaks Police Department would also like to remind our citizens to drive carefully, and abide by the rules of the road. Please arrive home safely.
