Domestic Violence, Shot Fired

On 08-27-11, Thousand Oaks Police Department sent patrol deputies to a 911 call of female victim screaming for help and possible gunshots being fired. Upon arrival, deputies contacted suspect Luis Lopez and his girlfriend. An investigation determined that Lopez had battered his girlfriend, causing injury. In addition, Lopez used a handgun and fired it into the air in an attempt to scare his girlfriend. No one was struck by the gunshot. Lopez was arrested for domestic battery and the discharge of the firearm.
He is currently in custody at the Ventura County Main Jail on $70,000.00 bail.
