Arrest of Suspect in the Nyeland Acres Homicide

On April 14, 2010, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of 2945 Ventura Blvd. in the unincorporated area of Oxnard. Miguel Perez, 18 years of age, was found lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds. Deputies attempted to revive Perez, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau began investigating the homicide. On April 19, 2010, at approximately 1:00 in the morning, Sheriff’s Major Crimes detectives arrested a 17-year-old juvenile for the murder of Miguel Perez. The suspect was interviewed and lodged into the Juvenile Justice Center for murder and criminal street terrorism charges.
