Arrest for Possession of Illegal Fireworks in Thousand Oaks

On 9/8/2011, the Thousand Police Department received an anonymous tip that explosives and narcotics were possibly being sold out of a residence in the 100 block of Maple Road in the City of Thousand Oaks. Within the same day, the T.O.P.D. Special Enforcement Unit discovered that Francisco (Frankie) Herrera was involved. Herrera also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

The Special Enforcement Unit contacted Herrera outside of his residence and took him into custody for the warrant. During a probation search of the residence, large quantities of dangerous, illegal fireworks were discovered in the garage. Herrera was arrested and booked for possessing the illegal fireworks, HS 12305 / Felony Possession of an Explosive Device.
