Around 3:00 PM this afternoon, the Camarillo Police Department responded to a residence in reference to an ambulance follow-up call of an injured 20-month-old female toddler. Upon arrival, deputies received information the toddler woke up from her nap and began climbing on the dresser when the dresser fell over landing on top of her. Ventura County Fire and AMR treated the toddler at the scene. However, the toddler succumbed to her injuries.

Camarillo Police Department detectives as well as Sheriff’s Major Crimes investigators also responded to the scene. At this time, the death appears to be accidental.
