John Finn's Birthday Celebration
From my friend Barry---here are a few of the pictures I took today at John's Birthday celebration at the La Posta Diner. This was a big event and as you can see from the pictures, John was looking great at 99 years and 337 days old. Medal of Honor Recipient, John Baca was there and you can see him with John and in a couple of the pictures talking with a gentleman who put together an awesome motorcycle tribute to the military folks who were at Pearl Harbor when we were attacked on Dec 7, 1941. You can see where John Finn signed the gas tank. Also, the granite marker you will see was dedicated to John as was Historic California U.S. 80 is now called John Finn Route. For the record, John was born on July 24, 1909 and not July 23, 1909 as you will see in just about every publication that you read about John, including the very nice granite marker they dedicated to John today. I hope you all enjoy the pictures. Sincerely, Barry
