Mike Hastings (1943-2015)

Mike was born on September 25, 1943 in Fillmore, Ca. Mike passed away November 25, 2015 in Santa Paula, Ca. He was surrounded by family and passed away peacefully after saying his goodbyes.
Mike began his career in the citrus industry in 1963 after graduating from Fillmore High School in 1962. Mike married his high school sweet heart Terri Myers in 1964 and spent 51 great years together.
Along with his citrus management Mike started a gun smith business. He always gave credit to his lifelong friend and teacher Malcom Jackson for teaching him all he knew about repairing or building a beautiful gun.
Mike had a passion for the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing with his friends and family. He hunted and fished all around the Ventura County, the Sierras and Utah.
Mike was all about family and friends. All the years of living on the ranch, there was a steady flow of friends and family of all ages because there was always an open door and a good time to be had.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Nita Hastings, and his daughter DeAnna. Mike is survived by his wife Terri, his son Derrik his wife Michelle, grandchildren Charlie, Jordyn and Griffin Hastings. Joslyn Spieler, Falisha Lemon. Sister Nancy Bowlin, nephew Chip (Sandy) Bowlin and nieces Corrie and Casey Bowlin.
No services will be held as was his request. He asked that all his family and many friends remember all the great times and stories with no sadness only happiness.
Mike’s last words to Terri were “It’s been a great party babe!”
