Margaret (Maggie) Ann Kemp (1971-2022)

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our daughter, sister, sister-n-law, loving Aunt, and friend.
Maggie unexpectedly passed away on October 6, 2022 from an unknown and brief illness.
Margaret Ann Kemp was born on August 3, 1971, in Oxnard, California to John and Elizabeth (Michel) Kemp. Maggie spent the majority of her young life on the Michel Ranch (located near Fillmore) surrounded by family, love, and orange trees. Maggie attended the local public schools in Fillmore where she graduated in 1989.
In 2003, Maggie graduated from CSUN (California State University Northridge) with her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Upon graduating she accepted a teaching position at CLU (California Lutheran University) Early Childhood Learning center located in Thousand Oaks. Maggie spent seventeen years at CLU forming relationships with colleagues and teaching young children. 2020 was a big year for Maggie, she began her master's program and accepted a teaching position with Standford University in their Early Childhood Development center where she later became their assistant director.
Maggie was an avid traveler and runner whose adventures took her throughout the United States and beyond. She visited Australia and New Zealand, with each destination leaving her with lasting memories and incredible life experiences. She participated in full and half marathons, and if possible a family member would travel with her. Maggie loved sea otters, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Seahawks, knitting, anything California and collecting Starbucks Where Are You mugs from all of her running destinations. She especially loved spending time with her family and being Auntie Maggie.
Maggie's defining features were her strong faith in the Lord, who constantly guided her throughout her life, her kind and beautiful smile that would light up a room, her love of all things family and her encouraging, optimistic and positive attitude.
Maggie is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Harold and Bernice Michel, along with paternal grandparents John Kemp Sr., step grandfather Howard Buchheim and Norma (Kemp) Buchheim. She is survived by her parents John and Elizabeth Kemp; sister Sarah Kemp; brother Jacob and sister-n-law Nichole, their son Peyton and daughter Emmalynn. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
