To the Editor:
I am acquainted with Senator Cornpone’s achievements. However, he wasn’t smart enough to question Schmitt’s phony evidence or recognize that the unflappable Jack Smith would make him look foolish. Kennedy’s latest brilliant observation, on why people’s color doesn’t matter, is because, “to bears, we all taste like chicken.”
Speaking in Grand Island NE last week, Trump made a comment, while defending the costs of the Iran War, telling the exhuberant MAGA crowd that even an attack on America itself would be worth, “keeping the world safe – keeping our country safe. They can take out a city,” he continued before adding, “Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay.” The President of the United States, in a time of war, expressed tolerance for a massacre on American soil. There have never been more compelling grounds for immediately invoking the 25th Amendment or, at the very least, initiating impeachment. Some reporters, who couldn’t believe he meant it, decided he was “talking about gas prices,” but a discussion of gas prices does not flow to the obliteration of American cities. Others, shocked, suggested it must be a “joke,” which itself would be a sign of an acutely unbalanced mind. Right-leaning Forbes Magazine opted against “sanewashing” Trump stating, “it’s unclear whether he was warning about an attack or daring Iran to launch one.”
The WH set to spinning that Trump was only fantasizing out loud about what could happen if Iran had a nuclear bomb and threatened cities – if he hadn’t gone to war first. Except, that in TX a few days later, Trump repeated the statement, “I said it the other day, let them hit a missile into San Diego or Los Angeles on the way. You want to see a horror show? Let them hit San Diego. Let them hit Los Angeles.” Finally flagged down, he lamely tried to salvage his remarks, “We’re not going to let that happen. We protect our cities.”
Trump’s quiet truth out loud: He doesn’t care about ordinary people, even MAGA, enjoys imagining “horror shows” like LA and San Diego (promised to “annihilate” a non-compliant Iran, and approved Hegseth’s gleeful promise to livestream a military execution – as Iran does). He loves these threats and visions and gets a late-life virility rush from them. He especially thinks his constituents are dumb. Trump recently told a cheering MAGA crowd, “I could say the stupidest things and you’d clap. It’s true!” Google it. The Republican Party’s duty is to throw a net over lethal “President Chucky” and act for We, the People, rather than tremble before a deranged and dangerous president, but it won’t. The midterms are our chance to exercise the Constitutional control we still have, unless Trump’s election plans are successful. Known plans include thwarted attempts to unconstitutionally federalize the elections, urging red-state Secretaries of State to reduce the number of polling places, especially in blue-state college towns, assigning DHS agents to “monitor” some voting sites, and contracting with Prosegur, an international security and armed vehicle company with several human rights and violence accusations, to provide 1000 private ASOs (armed security officers) at some USPS regional distribution centers. Why is this company, with a highly dubious reputation, providing armed guards at USPS facilities just before the midterms? “How do we know that they’re not going to have armored trucks pull up, load up all the ballots into armored trucks while the armed security officers stand there?” After all, Trump’s DOJ and CIA did it in Georgia. This week on Truth Social, Trump promised an unidentified “major midterm surprise.” Later, alongside Russ Vought (chief author of Project 2025 and now OMB Director), Trump crowed, “We have some big surprises coming up in another few weeks, right, Russ?...He is gonna be one of the very important people in the history of our country. He’s got some great things happening.” No objective informed American doubts that Trump will do anything and everything to avert defeat and maintain his corrupt power on November 3 and in the aftermath, when he will again try to invalidate the People’s will if he loses.
