To the Editor:
Trump chose Russia over Ukraine
Trump chose North Korea over South Korea
Trump chose China over Taiwan
Trump chose Putin over NATO
Consistently, Trump choses dictators over our democratic allies. And he wants to control who gets a ballot, and who can vote. He also wants to control who can count those votes. He and his allies have danced all around ICE at polling places, seizing ballots. This is when in 2016, states referred approximately 30 suspected cases of noncitizen voting for investigation or prosecution. That’s about 0.0001% of votes—and those were suspected, not 30 established illegal votes. Another study showed 14 convictions of noncitizens for voting over a period of three years. This is a five alarm fire?
We have never cancelled an election through the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the 1918 influenza pandemic, the Great Depression, the Korean and Vietnam wars, and elections following 9/11.
Remember this on voting day.
One more little Trump tidbit. Now Trump’s lackeys on the Kennedy Center Board threaten to tear down the Kennedy Center if Trump’s name can’t be put on it. AND he wants Obama’s portrait sold. How petty and small can one person get?

To the Editor:
I hope your email is feeling better. Since “war” is your sole interest these days, let’s discuss other wars that Trump has started or is the process of starting.
Tariff Wars. In another senseless fit of pique, Trump declared new 50% tariffs on Canada, 25% on Mexico, and 10% on China. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has vowed to match them dollar-for-dollar. From out of the Canadian shadows, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, termed a “flunky” by Trump, tore into Trump on Monday as, “a bully, a dictator, and a man unfit to give lessons on economics.”
Mr. Ford appears to be of a different ilk than the refined Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, and further responded, “speaking Trump’s native language,” that Trump could kiss his posterior. “I have a lot of real estate on my a--, so he has a lot of room to kiss [it],” Ford told members of the press.”
“I’ve been in this game a lot longer than he has,” Ford said “I’m not going to take any advice off a guy that’s the king of bankruptcies — and he’s actually tariffing his own people, taxing his own people,” he added, “and you think an insult from him hurts me?” “He might as well call up the Energizer Bunny, because he should be powering his facilities,” Ford said, threatening to cut electricity to U.S. manufacturing plants.”
In fact, Trump has repeatedly “solved” his lifetime financial failures by declaring bankruptcy seven times. He may think he has the same option if American economics implode.
Department of Homeland Security Wars. Handyman Luis Manuel Aviles, 48, was arrested by immigration authorities in Key West, FL, as he left his house to take his car to a mechanic. Mr. Aviles has a permit to work in the US, and he has lived a law-abiding life here for 19 years. “He dedicates himself only to work so he can put food on the table at home. He is a good father. He loves his children with all his soul,” said his wife, Argelia, 47.
Mr. Aviles’ son is in the Navy, aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, a vessel that set a U.S. military record for uninterrupted time at sea, stirring concerns about supply shortages and severe sanitation issues, until the Pentagon finally, recently sent them back to San Diego.
One of the most highly advertised immigration benefits is the “Military parole-in-place,” policy, which allows the spouses, children and parents of active-duty service members and veterans to obtain legal immigration status while remaining in the country. It is being rolled back by the Trump administration to increase its mass deportation numbers. At a minimum, dozens of parents and spouses of active-duty US Troops have been detained to date.
Clearly, Trump’s immigration policy has little to do with crime reduction. Can anyone – anywhere – believe the word and promises of the US Government? Is this who we are and want to be?
DHS and Election Interference. Trump has repeatedly declined to rule out deploying troops or federal agents to polling sites, saying he would “do anything necessary” to ensure “honest elections,” and has suggested Republicans should “take over” voting procedures in some blue-state polling places.
Meanwhile, DHS is refusing a court order to disclose its planned participation on November 3, and the judge blasted its refusal to meaningfully comply with her order. The materials are due this week. The Agency, the president, and Cabinet, do not think they have to submit to oversight, and can plan election interference at will.
