Jose S. Urrea, age 84, passed away on March 30, 2025. He was born on June 27, 1940, in Zacatecas, Mexico to Jose and Refugio Garcia, and was the youngest of seven children. Friends and family knew Jose as Colorado, Red or Pepe. He had a passion for soccer whether he was playing, coaching or watching a game.
Jose came to the United States during his early 20’s where he later found a career doing construction throughout Ventura and LA counties. He dedicated his life to hard work and providing for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma; his sons, Joey (married to Araceli) and Jorge; his grandchildren, Andre (married to Rachelle) and Alyss; and his beloved great-granddaughters, Mila, Olivia, Candace, and Charlette. Jose was preceded in death by his son Jaime.
A memorial service will be held on April 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Perez Family Funeral Home, 600 Central Avenue, in Fillmore, CA, with a reception to follow at the family’s home. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Jose to join them in honoring his life.
