Jaime Urrea (1974-2019)

Jaime Urrea 45 of Pueblo, Colorado passed away on July 18, 2019 at Parkview Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born March 28, 1974 and raised in Fillmore, California. He graduated in 1992 and enlisted in the U.S. Army shortly after. Honorably serving abroad and later stationed at Fort Carson Colorado where he met and married his former wife and best friend Dianna Lucero Urrea.
After the Army they moved to Pueblo and started a life together. There he went back to school and began a new career as a correctional officer for the Colorado Dept. of Corrections. He worked at the Arkansas Valley Penitentiary a few years, before transferring to the Youth Offenders System Y.O.S. which he found very challenging.
Jaime was kind hearted, calm and reliable which made him a perfect fit for Y.O.S. and which also made him a lifelong friend to all he met.
Jaime is survived by his parents Jose and Norma Urrea; brothers Joey (Araceli) and Jorge Urrea; nephew Andre (Rachelle); niece Alyss; great- niece Mila also many family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held August 24th at 11am at Funeraria Del Angel Fillmore, 600 N. Central Ave., Fillmore, followed by a reception at Veteran’s Memorial Building, 511 Second St., Fillmore.
