On Monday and Tuesday, March 30-31, a large bear was reported in the 800 block of Blaine Street in North Fillmore. On Wednesday April 1, the same bear was spotted at the 800 block of Fourth Street and was roaming between Fourth and Edison Lane. Once police arrived, onlookers taking videos and photos were cleared from the area. KTLA5 News was on-scene along with multiple helicopters surveilling the area during capture. Fish & Game arrived about 10am and by 2:30pm the bear had been tranquilized and captured from under an RV. He also appeared to have a broken jaw and was transported out of the area.
