On Tuesday, August 4, at approximately 12:42 a.m., Fillmore City Fire and Ventura County Fire units were dispatched to a reported fire in the 400 block of Chambersburg Road. Upon arrival, firefighters located a large pile of mulch fully engulfed in flames. Crews, assisted by nearby fire stations, worked to quickly knock down the fire and prevent further spread. Fire personnel remained on scene for roughly three hours to ensure full extinguishment and to address any remaining hot spots. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
