Regarding the hatchet attach ad over the trip to Washington D.C. all I have to say is the truth is available. It was reviewed by the City Council (Cuevas, Lee, Walker and Hernandez) and the City Attorney. I was invited by the US Conference of Mayors to speak about Fillmore's DBO contract. I supplied reciepts for the trip showing reimbursement from the US Conference of Mayors. Food and Water Watch is a Ralph Nader inspired group which has it's own agenda for it's own purpose. Readers beware.
If anyone would like a copy of the US Conference of Mayors article of the speaking engagement please let me know and I'll copy one off for you. I have other pictures available rather than the one cropped and cut for effect which was placed in this weeks paper by way of advertising. Nothing to hide and nothing to hide from.

If you go to that website you will find that the conference had many distinguished speakers and presentors including Hillary Clinton, Christopher Dodd, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Antonio Villagariso,, etc. Are they all corrupt because they were at the same meeting with American Water? I think not. I think Fillmore can be very proud that our Mayor was invited to speak at such a distinguished conference of over 250 US Mayors (I guess all those Mayors are corrupt also? NOT!) and to represent our city of Fillmore to the rest of the United States.

Mayor Conaway also did an excellent job of representing Fillmore's concerns in Washington DC regarding the FEMA Sespe Creek floodway issue. Without Mayor Conaway and Mayor pro tem Cuevas' intervention in this matter, over one-third of Fillmore residents would be facing annual flood insurance bills of $1200.

Payne , Conaway went without approval of the Council. At that point in time that was an Ethic violation, questionable of State AB1234? The FPPC will decide

I hate to be absolute, LOL, but I usually do not initiate comments such as the one I'am about to make here, but it seems to me you are way off-mark in your comments and process of thinking. Somehow you may have a personality disorder and it is coming out in your commentaries. I, myself, are not perfect, but whoever you are, please be quiet if you can, until after these elections? To the citizens of Fillmore

It’s been a long time since I have seen this town as divided as it is now. There are so many factions in this town that want their slate to be voted on. They have been slandering each other like it would be the end of our town if their slate does not get voted in.
Therefore I am writing this letter is to set the record straight on why I’m running. I am running because there are some changes, that I perceive, which need to be made in how city hall is run. I have been mentioned as running with one slate. I believe it was that’s person opinion on who he is voting for. I have my own opinion and I have not joined any other slate. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
This town needs to begin its healing process, and will not begin to heal until all of the hatred stops. We need to unite together as citizens of Fillmore and elect the candidate we feel will do their best to serve us. Do not go on sound bites or blogs. Take the time to research each candidate and see what their views are rather than he said she said. There are eight candidates running for office, which gives the citizens a variety of views to choose from.
So I ask that all this hatred stop, and let’s begin to heal. No matter who is elected on Nov. 4th. we must support them in order to insure that our town moves forward.

Well said Marcoz and thank you for being concerned enough about our city to run for a seat on the city council.

I agree with you about taking the time to research each candidate. Unfornately, of all the candidates, I know the least about you. Your answers to the questions asked in the Fillmore Gazette have been short and vague. My sense is that you, Royce Davis and Omero Martinez haven't taking the time to research any of the issues currently facing our city.

For these reasons, I can't vote for you, Davis or Martinez this year. Conaway and Cuevas have my vote.

The reason I did not go tho the first debate, was because I had another meeting I had to attend. I called and informed them that I would not be there, but apparently they did not tell anyone.

Why won't Gayle or Jamey reveal who they are in bed with? It's a simple question Gayle and Jamey. Who are the members of "Fil-Pac ID#1302822" ?

Marcoz - Don't fool yourself. Your comments over the past several months pertaining to political affairs as well as everyday city life have only proven how vindictive and uneducated on current affairs you truly are. I challenge the very premise of your original post stating "This town needs to begin its healing process" when you have been personally responsible for half of the non-sense directionless comment and rhetoric brought about over the past several months. You and a few of your friends know why you have chosen to run for city council and unfortunately they are not the right reasons. My suggestion to you is start improving your home and family life before you decide to try to improve the lives of others.

I suggest you go back to the drawing board and rethink your true reasoning behind running for city council. Actions CLEARLY speak louder than words and your actions over the past several months indicate something completely different that the wonderful "Cant we all just get along" post above. For those interested in campaign finance and PAC funding the California Secretary of State CalAccess Campaign Finance website lists all the information an inquiring mind might want to know.
For instance the information for FIL-PAC indicates ID# 1302822 indicates that the Committee has not filed Form 460, 461 or 450. The Committee is listed as Active and has a local phone contact number listed. Here is a link:

What does that all mean? That the Committe is recognized by the State as being an active lobby committee which can declare it supports or opposses a candidate or measure. If the committee raised funds to pay for advertising and mailed the required forms to the state they may not be posted yet. While the state may be delayed in posting the information it can be obtained locally at City Hall.
