FUSD Welcomes New Principal, Kayleigh Kelp

![]() Fillmore Unified staff welcomed new Rio Vista Elementary Principal Kayleigh Kelp to the Fillmore Unified School District. Kelp comes to Fillmore with more than a decade of educational experience, having served as both an elementary teacher and assistant principal in Ventura County and Santa Cruz before earning her Administrative Services Credential and Master’s in Educational Leadership from Cal State Channel Islands, as well as dual bachelor’s degrees in Elementary and Special Education from Purdue University. Kelp emphasizes a leadership style centered on integrity, relationships, efficiency, support, and empowerment, and is particularly committed to advancing restorative justice and equity for students with special needs; she looks forward to collaborating closely with students, families, and staff to continue Rio Vista’s culture of safety, respect, and community engagement.
