Tom, there are many volunteer, community service programs in Fillmore, more than what I say herein. There is the Fillmore Mountain Search and Rescue Team, Fillmore High Alumni Association, Rotary (and other clubs and non-profit groups) volunteer programs, The Pratt Family Association, the Fillmore Fire Department (Volunteers), and occasionally the City of Fillmore also holds volunteer drives and activities as well. These are just 'starters'. If you look, you will see. I hope more Fillmoreites will get involved in community service in 2009, and make it their 'New Year's Resolution' to do so.

Tom a few places that welcome volunteers are the Fillmore Convalescent, and also I know that our local Elementary schools can use some volunteers.

Vision 2020 Civic Pride also participates in clean up days.
Many many service programs already mentioned. Another fun way to help is the Athletic Boosters at the High School. I'd write more but I'm on the way out the door to announce the 1st round CIF Football game between Fillmore and Desert High School.
