STUDENT INFORMATION

1. THE LIBRARY IS CLOSED TODAY!
2. PICTURE DAY takes place this TOMORROW. You should have received picture packet cost information yesterday in your first period class. Extras are located in the front office. If you plan to purchase pictures, you MUST BRING YOUR MONEY TOMORROW. All students are required to have their picture taken during your PE period. If for some reason you do not have PE, see us in the front office. You will also have your ID pictures taken and your ID card will be issued to you at this time. Your ID card will replace the lunch card you were given earlier. You will also need your ID card in order to check out books from the library. Think of your ID card as being as important as a driver’s license. You don’t want to lose it and you want to have it with you at all times!
3. ADVISORY INFO – This year Advisory follows 3rd period from 10:55-11:20 a.m. We are encouraging ALL STUDENTS to remind your parents when they are scheduling appointments to check you out of school to keep in mind that we don’t want you to miss any of your Advisory time.

PARENT INFORMATION

1. PARENT MEET & GREET – Our first Meet & Greet is scheduled for Friday, 8/25 from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in room C-1. Come and meet our Principal and Assistant Principal, and Counselors!
2. TRAFFIC CONGESTION – Just a few ideas to help make dropping off/picking up your student a little easier: 1) Arriving before 7:30 a.m. is best as there is very little traffic. If you come after 7:30 a.m., be prepared for traffic congestion at 1st and A Street. 2) Consider dropping off/picking up your student at Yucca & 2nd Street (north side of campus). There are numerous gates that the students can use to enter our campus. 3) For safety reasons, we do not want students walking through our parking lot. If you choose to drive them to school and enter our parking lot, please drop them off at the island between the parking lot and the front of the school.
3. CHECK OUTS – If you need to check out your student for any reason, we would like to encourage you to schedule as many appointments as possible to take place after school ends at 2:50 p.m. There are times when this will not be possible. We are hoping that you will try to avoid checking students out during their Advisory period which runs from 10:55-11:20 a.m. EVERY DAY. Your help is appreciated!
4. PARENTS ARE WELCOME here at Fillmore Middle School. If you wish to come on our campus, please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge. We want you and your student to have a wonderful experience here at FMS!
