STUDENT INFORMATION
1. NO LATE START TODAY due to testing. All students need to be in school starting at 7:55 a.m. Minimum days the remainder of this week. All students will be released at 12:15 p.m. Busses will leave school at 12:45 p.m.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Students are not allowed on any other campus after school, including testing week. Please do not go to any other schools after you leave FMS.
3. 8th GRADERS (Soon to be Freshmen) – If you are an athlete and plan to participate and practice during the summer for ANY SPORT/PEP SQUAD you must have a current physical on file with the FHS Athletic Dept. “FREE” physicals will be given starting Monday, May 2nd. However, you must see Patty in the Health Office to set up an appointment and complete the required paperwork. If you wish to get a physical from your own personal doctor, Patty will have the required paperwork as well. Once completed, ALL PHYSICALS are required to be returned to Patty in the Health Office.
4. WRESTLING – If you are interested in participating in the Spring youth wrestling program for all 6-8th graders, sign up on TODAY right after school in the high school wrestling room. Practices will take place once a week on Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m.
5. PRIDE IN AMERICA DAY – The Pride Committee is in need of a black light for the stage for Pride in America Day. Please contact Mrs. Merrill or Isis Munoz-Garibay if you have a way to help with black lights.
6. YEARBOOK still has a few spots for next year’s class. 6th & 7th graders, get your applications in to Miss Beal in K-3 today!
7. WANT TO JOIN THE FUN? Friday, April 29th AVID will be holding a fundraiser at Carl’s Jr. We will pass out flyers the day of the fundraiser. Come and eat and hang out with all your friends!
8. BRIDGES AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM would like to welcome all students who are interested in signing up to participate in the program. Students can pick up an application in the office or in room D-1 after school. The Bridges program is open daily from the end of the regular school day until 6 p.m. Each child that attends the program will get a snack to eat, help with homework, have computer access, get involved in arts and crafts activities and participate in sports. Parents have the option in signing up their child for the required three days or five full days during the regular school week. We hope to have more students participating go pick up an application soon. Have a great remainder of the school year.
9. DO YOU HAVE AN INTEREST in creating rallies and activities? If so ASB is for you. Come pick up a packet in E-3 from Mr. Cummings today.
10. AVID – Last chance to turn in AVID applications for next school year. All applications must be submitted by this Friday, April 29th.
11. 8th GRADERS – Remember, for the end of the year trip to the park you must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 for the year and no suspensions in the 4th quarter.
PARENT INFORMATION
1. PARENTING CLASSES in English and Spanish are starting Monday, April 25th and will take place at FMS every Monday – English 4-6:30 p.m. and Spanish 6:30-9 pm.
2. JUMP-A-THON – 6th graders will be having a Jump-A-Thon on Friday, 4/29 after CST testing. If you are interested in donating or helping out, please contact the school at 524-6070, email hatwood@fillmore.k12.ca.us, or send money to Fillmore Middle School, PO Box 697, Fillmore, CA 93016
3. PARENTS – SIGN UP FOR PARENT CONNECTION for Zangle. See your student’s grades, attendance, class assignments. Fill out the form at the following link and return it to the middle school office. 4. 7th-12th GRADE STUDENTS are now required to get a whooping cough immunization before starting the 2011-2012 school year. Make an appointment now for your student(s) to receive this required vaccination.
5. You will also find a cafeteria menu and staff email access.
