STUDENT INFORMATION

1. WORD OF THE WEEK is “summarize” which means to present the content of a body of material in a condensed (shortened) form; to simplify or reduce something larger to its main points; to state or express in a concise form. Pronounce it! Spell it! Define it! Use it correctly in a sentence to show you own this word.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Fighting or encouraging a fight will result in a 3-day suspension.
3. TODAY we will have several rewards. First, all 8th graders will be released 5 minutes early to lunch as a reward for winning the last rally. Then at the end of the day, all students who are reading at grade level or above will be released to the Pavilion to socialize and listen to music.
4. HOBBY FAIR PARTICIPANTS will meet in room B-1 today and tomorrow to finish our display boards. Please start bringing in your hobby supplies to Mrs. Wohlers so that they are here for the event which is to be held this Friday! You must also have a permission slip signed by all 3rd-5th period teachers in order to participate. Come get the form from Mrs. Wohlers TODAY after school.
5. BASKETBALL POTLUCK will take place on Friday, March 5th from 4:30-6:45 p.m. Let Coach Alcantar know if you plan to attend and what you plan to bring.
6. SCRAPBOOKING CLUB will meet TODAY. Bring your lunch and enjoy working on your scrapbooks in room B-1.
7. GATE STUDENTS – There is a meeting on Tuesday, March 2nd where we will give information on our upcoming contests. Please check it out in room B-1.

PARENT INFORMATION

1. MEET & GREET this Friday, Feb. 26th from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in room C-1. Parents are also encouraged to view the hobby fair after attending the Meet & Greet. Hobby Fair will be located in room B-4.
2. OPEN HOUSE AND AWARDS NIGHT will be held on Wed., March 3rd. More info will follow but mark your calendars now.
3. OUR FMS WEBSITE is now under construction! You can log on at: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us and click on the Middle School. Our office staff and teaching staff along with email links are posted.
4. PARENTS ARE WELCOME here at Fillmore Middle School. If you wish to come on our campus, please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge. We want you and your student to have a wonderful experience here at FMS!
