STUDENT INFORMATION
1. MARK YOUR CALENDAR – Next Thursday, Nov. 11th is a school holiday (Veteran’s Day). Enjoy your day off in honor of all those who have served or are serving our country in the military.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Possession of a firearm, knife, explosive or other dangerous object will result in a 5-day suspension and expulsion recommendation.
3. YOUTH ACT CLUB will meet again this coming Monday, Nov. 9 in room D-2 during 1st lunch and room K-1 during 2nd lunch. More goodies will be served. Help make our world a better place and be a part of this club.
4. CST GOAL SETTING – If you have not filled out your goal sheet and found and adult mentor, please do so. This Friday we will be giving away many prizes including 2 tickets to the 100th football game between Fillmore and Santa Paula. If you lost your form, you can come to the attendance office and get another one. The next drawing is this Friday, so hurry!
5. CHEESECAKE FUNDRAISER – Thank you to all our students who participated in raising money for our student body. Please remember order forms and money needs to be turned in RIGHT AWAY. Turn in your order forms and money to the front office. Thank you!
6. BOYS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS - 7/8th grade boys will try out TODAY from 5-6:30 p.m. and 6th grade will try out TODAY from 6:30-8 p.m. and Thursday, 11/4 from 5-6:30 p.m. Any football player can come on Friday, 11/5 from 3-5:00 p.m. to try out.
7. FILLMORE LITTLE LEAGUE will be holding early registration and a fundraiser featuring live pro wrestling on Saturday, Nov. 6th in the FMS gym. Registration starts at 5:00 p.m. and the cost is $80.00 for early bird registration with the purchase of an event ticket. The registration fee will increase after this event. 8. NEED COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS? The Fillmore Little League needs help with the fundraiser on Nov. 6th featuring live pro wrestling. Helpers are needed from 7-10 p.m. and you will receive free admission to the event. If interested please contact David Lugo at 805-302-1539.
9. 8th GRADE STUDENTS ONLY – If you want your baby picture in the yearbook, get them to Miss Beal in room K-3. There are only 98 spots this year for about 300 8th graders. Put your name and your 4th period teacher’s name on the back of your picture. Spots will be filled as they are turned in on a first come, first served basis. No spots will be held without a photo.
10. YEARBOOKS – Time is running out! We have sold half the yearbooks. Get yours now before they are gone. Only $45! What an amazing and affordable price which includes your name free! See Miss Beal in K-3 during 1st lunch or our table at 2nd lunch. If you really want a yearbook you better act fast!
11. LOGO CONTEST – The Senior Center is looking for a new logo and they are sponsoring a contest to select one. The winner will receive $50.00. Deadline is Thanksgiving, November 25th. For more information contact Gloria Hansen at jkhansen@prodigy.net
PARENT INFORMATION
1. PROGRESS REPORTS – We will only be mailing one progress report this quarter instead of two. The progress report will be mailed on Monday, 11/29/10.
2. ATTENDANCE REMINDER – FMS appreciates parents making sure that their students come to school on time and are only absent when sick. If you need to schedule medical appointments, we encourage you to schedule them after school hours, but we understand that this sometimes this is not possible. Your help is appreciated
3. PARENTS ARE WELCOME to come to our school any time. Please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor’s pass before going on campus.
4. WEBSITE INFO: Our Calendar of Events is posted at the Fillmore Unified School District Website at: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us Once there, you can click on Fillmore Middle School and you will find the calendar of events listed in the upper left corner. You will also find a cafeteria menu and staff email access.
