STUDENT INFORMATION
1. ACADEMIC AWARDS/CITIZENSHIP/DISTRICT AWARDS takes place tomorrow evening starting at 6:00 p.m. All eligible students should have received an invitation in the mail.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Fighting or encouraging a fight will result in a 3-5 day suspension.
3. MINIMUM DAYS REMINDER – Next week we will be on minimum day schedule Tuesday, May 4th through Friday, May 7th. We will be administering state testing and students will be released at 12:15 p.m. each of those days.
4. SPRIRT DAYS – April 27-30 – All clothing must comply with FMS dress code policy
Tuesday – Sock it to the test! Wear weird socks.
Wednesday – Hats off to you! Wear hats.
Thursday – Shine on the test! Wear sunglasses.
Friday – Get plenty of rest for the test! Wear pajamas.

5. SPIRIT DAYS – May 4 – 7
Tuesday – Wear clothing with words; in honor of Language Arts
Wednesday – Wear clothing with animals, weather; in honor of Science
Thursday – Wear clothing with numbers; in honor of Math
Friday – Wear red, white and blue; in honor of History
6. GATE MEETING on Thursday, April 29th to work on our writing contest, “What the Veteran Means to Me”. See you after school on Thursday, April 29th in room B-1.
7. CURRENT 7th GRADE STUDENTS – Fillmore High School is proud to offer the UC Summer Writing Academy. The goal of this summer program is to help prepare for the many facets of writing regardless of your writing skills. You will also be provided tutoring, guest presentations, field trips and activities in Literature and Music. Please pick up an application from Mrs. Wyand if you are interested. There is limited space available.
8. CURRENT 8th GRADE STUDENTS – Fillmore High School is proud to offer the Summer Academic Advancement Academy. This intensive summer program will help prepare you for high school mathematics, academic success, and successful admission to college. This is also a great opportunity to earn 5 high school credits. See Mrs. Wyand for an application if you are interested. Space is limited.
9. ARE YOU A HARD WORKER? Do you have at least a 3.0? Do you like visiting colleges and universities? AVID is now accepting applications for next year! If you are a 6th or 7th grader and are interested in applying, please pick up an application from Miss Atwood in C-2 or Mrs. Wyand in the office. Applications are due April 30th at 3:00 p.m.
10. EARTH DAY IS EVERY DAY! Recycle old clothing. Daniela Garcia
11. ANY STUDENT interested in the 2010 Young Writers Camp offered at a variety of neighboring colleges this summer, please see Mrs. Wyand for more information and/or an application.

2. PARENTS ARE WELCOME here at Fillmore Middle School. If you wish to come on our campus, please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge. We want you and your students to have a wonderful experience here at FMS!
