STUDENT INFORMATION
1. CAREER LUNCH on Thursday, 4/23, 1st lunch in room J-1. Earth Day is this week and in honor of the big event, our speaker is from Ventura County’s Environmental Health Division, Mr. Paolo Quinto. Come find out what his career responsibilities are regarding keeping Ventura County clean!
2. SCHOOL RULES – If you have your cell phone confiscated, ONLY an adult may pick it up!
3. THE DOGHOUSE MATH PROBLEM – The answer: Part I: There are 4 different and distinct rectangles that have an area of 24 square units. Part 2: Those areas are 1 x 24; 2 x 12; 3 x8, and 4 x 6. Congratulations to Jose Luis Perez, Hugo Valdovinos and Jose Contreras. Thank you Mr. Fischer for the challenging math problem.
4. GREAT ESCAPE III – Congratulations on your hard work! Students who earned a GPA of 3.85 and above will receive their escape pass TODAY at the beginning of period 4. Go to room G-1 to receive your treat!
5. ACADEMIC RALLY – This Friday we will celebrate our hard work! We will have an academic rally with all three grade levels competing against each other for the most points. So study hard and get ready to win for your grade level.
6. TALENT SHOW – Students and staff who would like to participate in a fun event, please sign up for our 3rd annual talent show. The show is scheduled to take place June 3. If you have any questions, need more information, or a room to practice, please see Ms. Morielli in room G-1.
7. FMS CITIZENSHIP & ACADEMIC AWARDS for 3rd quarter will take place on Thursday, 4/23 at 6:30 p.m. in the FMS gym. Dessert will be provided. Eligible students will receive an invitation in the mail!
8. JOIN FILLMORE YOUTH CHEER “Raiders” – There are still spots available for girls ages 5-14. If interested, please attend a MANDATORY MEETING on Tuesday, 4/21 at the Senior Center starting at 6:00 p.m. Cost to register is $80.00.
9. ATTENTION PIRU STUDENTS ONLY – If you are interested in going to CSI California Science Institute on April 20th, please stop by the Mentor Room during lunch or after school. Tickets are free and space is limited. First come, first served!
PARENT INFORMATION
1. 4th QUARTER PROGRESS GRADES – Our first progress report for the 4th quarter will be mailed today.
2. PARENT GARDENERS - The FMS student gardens are planted and growing. Please stop by and take a look. You are welcome to help work in the garden and/or donate tools, plants, soil, bricks or beneficial insects. You are also welcome to plant a memorial rose. See Mrs. Merrill for further information and to check out our student garden plan.
3. ANY PARENT who wishes to participate in our school’s newspaper by writing an interesting article or poetry, sharing a favorite recipe, or submitting photos of our school events, please contact Ms. Morielli in room G-1 or email her at: amorielli@fillmore.k12.ca.us
