STUDENT INFORMATION
1. 6th GRADE ASB OFFICERS – Congratulations to Miguel Lagunas, 6th grade President and Ryan Cummings, 6th grade Vice President. Any 6th grader who is interested in joining the ASB class, please see Ms. Morielli in room G-1. We still have three openings.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Willful disobedience or disruption of school activities will result in Administrative Detention or possibly suspension.
3. OCTOBER BREAK is next week, Oct. 11-18th. Students come back to school on Tuesday, Oct. 19th.
4. WALK TO SCHOOL DAY is scheduled for tomorrow, Oct. 6th. We are encouraging our students (and parents) to walk to school. When you arrive at school we will have fresh oranges, some special outdoor activities (hula hoops, jump ropes), blood pressure testing, and music! Remember, that day is late start day. Classes begin at 9:00 a.m.
5. SPIRIT WEDNESDAYS – Oct. 6 is College Day. Wear your favorite college shirt and/or cap. Oct. 20 is Crazy Socks Day.
6. SPIRIT RALLY is this Friday, Oct. 8th. The games include musical chairs, limbo rock, dance contest, human wheel barrow, dummies freeze frame and more. Be prepared to yell and win! The grade level with the most points wins! The prize will be revealed at the rally.
7. SPRIT RALLY GRADE LEVEL COLORS – Grade 8: Blue; Grade 7: Red; Grade 6: White. The students who wish to participate in the rally games must wear their grade level color and tape their grade level number on their shirt.
8. GREAT ESCAPE I – Grades matter! Keep up the good work. Turn in homework and prepare for tests. Students with GPA’s 3.3 and above will automatically earn a pass for the Great Escape. More info to follow.
9. TEXTBOOKS – If you are a 7th or 8th grade student and have not received your textbooks to take home, please come to the office or the library.
10. YEARBOOK – Hey you, yes you! If you miss it, you’ll miss the best deal on your yearbook. There is not time to wait. There are only 200 yearbooks ordered this year and about 900 students on campus. If you want to guarantee you get a yearbook, you need to buy it now. Price is $45 which includes your name for free. That’s right, your name for free! See us at our lunch table during 2nd lunch or 1st lunch student can go to Miss Beal’s room, K-3. Get them fast while they last!
11. WRESTLING MATCH Wednesday, Oct. 6th with Matilija. This is an away match starting at 5:30 p.m. at Matilija.
12. DO YOU HAVE AN INTEREST in becoming a reporter or newscaster? Come to Mrs. Wohlers’ room, B-1 to work on your application this week. The deadline for this application is Oct. 12th.
PARENT INFORMATION
1. A HUGE THANK YOU to the wonderful parents and staff that helped chaperone our first dance of the year. It was a success and we could not have done it without you!
2. PARENTS ARE WELCOME to come to our school any time. Please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor’s pass before going on campus.
3. WEBSITE INFO: Our Calendar of Events is posted at the Fillmore Unified School District Website at: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us Once there, you can click on Fillmore Middle School and you will find the calendar of events listed in the upper left corner. You will also find a cafeteria menu and staff email access.
