STUDENT INFORMATION

1. PARTY GRANDE has been changed to Friday May 13th. Tickets go on sale TODAY during both lunches. Presale $2.00, $3.00 at the door.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Scholastic CrimeStoppers offers a reward of $50 if you provide information regarding a crime, drugs or weapons on campus. The student providing the information will remain anonymous. See our Principal Mr. Schweller or our Assistant Principal Mr. Carroll if you have information.
3. ALL ASB APPLICATIONS are due to Mr. Cummings by Friday, May 6th. If you would like to be in ASB next year, turn in your application.
4. FMS WRESTLING – Coach Calderon is hoping that more FMS students (boys and girls) will join the wrestling team. You may do so by going to the high school wrestling room every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. There is no cost to participate. For all the information about the program, see Coach Calderon.
5. PENNIES FOR PATIENTS – For the next few weeks FMS will be participating in the “Pennies for Patients” program. Donate your loose change to your 6th period class and help save some lives. See Mr. Cummings for more information.
6. BOYS & GIRLS CLUB DANCE this Friday, May 6 from 7-9:30 p.m. Cost is $2.00 and is for only middle school students.
7. LIFETOUCH PICTURES – Students who received their promotion and/or Spring pictures need to return the pictures, money due, or a combination of both to the office. There is a large collection bin in the office. Please do not disturb the office as you return your picture envelopes.
8. YOUTH ACT CLUB will meet next Monday, May 9th during 2nd lunch in room K-1.
9. RELAY IDOL – The Relay for Life program, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is holding auditions on Saturday, May 21st at 3:00 p.m. in Central Park for local singers or groups. The winner will perform the National Anthem at the Relay for Life on September 17th, 2011 and also be part of the 24-hr. Fight Against Cancer. Pick up a flyer in the front office for further information on how to register to audition.
10. WALK-A-THON – Fillmore High School is sponsoring the second annual walk-a-thon on Wednesday, May 18th from 8:30-5:30 p.m. benefiting Make-A-Wish and Kids for Wish Kids Foundation. If you are interested in participating contact Principal Wilber at the high school.
11. 8th GRADERS (Soon to be Freshmen) – If you are an athlete and plan to participate and practice during the summer for ANY SPORT/PEP SQUAD you must have a current physical on file with the FHS Athletic Dept. Please see Patty in the Health Office to set up an appointment and complete the required paperwork. If you wish to get a physical from your own personal doctor, Patty will have the required paperwork as well. Once completed, ALL PHYSICALS are required to be returned to Patty in the Health Office.
12. 8th GRADERS – Remember, for the end of the year trip to the park you must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 for the year and no suspensions in the 4th quarter.

PARENT INFORMATION

1. DENTAL CLINIC – The Sespe NFL preschool program is offering a dental clinic. For more information call Patsy Torres or Ana Avila at Sespe School 524-6161.
2. 8th GRADE PARENTS – Fillmore High School Athletic Booster Club will be having elections for the 2011-2012 Board on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the high school in room #1. If you are interested in being on the Board or just volunteering, please feel free to attend.
3. PARENTING CLASSES in English and Spanish have started and will take place at FMS every Monday – English 4-6:30 p.m. and Spanish 6:30-9 p.m. in room
D-3.
4. PARENTS – SIGN UP FOR PARENT CONNECTION for Zangle. See your student’s grades, attendance, class assignments. Fill out the form at the following link and return it to the middle school office. http://www.fillmore.k12.ca.us/ Click on Fillmore Middle School, then click on Parent Connection. Once you fill out the form turn it in to the school and your request will be processed. Once processed, you will receive your PIN number via email.
5. 7TH -12TH GRADE STUDENTS are now required to get a whooping cough immunization before starting the 2011-2012 school year. Make an appointment now for your student(s) to receive this required vaccination.
