STUDENT INFORMATION

1. CURRENT 7th GRADE STUDENTS – Fillmore High School is proud to offer the UC Summer Writing Academy. The goal of this summer program is to help prepare for the many facets of writing regardless of your writing skills. You will also be provided tutoring, guest presentations, field trips and activities in Literature and Music. Please pick up an application from Mrs. Wyand if you are interested. There is limited space available.
2. CURRENT 8th GRADE STUDENTS – Fillmore High School is proud to offer the Summer Academic Advancement Academy. This intensive summer program will help prepare you for high school mathematics, academic success, and successful admission to college. This is also a great opportunity to earn 5 high school credits. See Mrs. Wyand for an application if you are interested. Space is limited.
3. SCHOOL RULES – Possession of unauthorized devices such as cell phones, I-Pods, cameras, etc. will result in the item being confiscated and your parent will have to pick it up.
4. ARE YOU A HARD WORKER? Do you have at least a 3.0? Do you like visiting colleges and universities? AVID is now accepting applications for next year! If you are a 6th or 7th grader and are interested in applying, please pick up an application from Miss Atwood in C-2 or Mrs. Wyand in the office. Applications are due April 30th at 3:00 p.m.
5. UNSUNG HEROES MUSIC FESTIVAL takes place this Saturday, April 17th from 11:00-5:00 p.m. at the Fillmore Towne Theater. Tickets are $10.00 and will be available at the door and the proceeds will benefit Fillmore High School Band Boosters and AVID program and the One Step Center.
6. EARTH DAY IS EVERY DAY! Help reduce air pollution and use public transportation whenever possible. Dustin Boschee and Tony Hurtado
7. ANY STUDENT interested in the 2010 Young Writers Camp offered at a variety of neighboring colleges this summer, please see Mrs. Wyand for more information and/or an application.
8. FLASHES PEP SQUAD – Anyone interested in trying out for the Flashes Pep Squad may pick up a permission slip at the high school student store. Tryout practice will start April 19th-April 22nd from 3:15-5:15 and tryouts will be held on Friday, April 23rd. You must have a permission slip in order to participate in tryouts. Parent meeting will be held April 19th at 6:30 in the high school gym. If you have any questions, please call Ms. Tafoya at the high school.

2. PARENTS ARE WELCOME here at Fillmore Middle School. If you wish to come on our campus, please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge. We want you and your students to have a wonderful experience here at FMS!
