STUDENT INFORMATION
1. IF YOU LOVE THE ARTS like acting, drawing or even photography then come see Mrs. Reyes-Deutsch, counselor, to find out how you can apply to go to the California State Summer School for the Arts. Deadline for applications is Friday, February 28th.
2. SCHOOL RULES – When you are assigned an administrative detention you have two chances to serve it. If you fail to serve your detention you will be assigned a 3 hour extended day detention.
3. STUDENTS OF THE MONTH – Congratulations to the following student who have been nominated by their 2nd period teachers. Read the great comments about these students in the Fillmore Gazette. 4. 2nd QUARTER AWARDS BREAKFAST will take place TODAY from 8:15-8:45 a.m. 2nd period teachers have a list of students who are to be released to the breakfast.
5. MIGRANT SPEECH TEAM – If you are interested in joining this year’s team, please come to a short informational meeting TODAY at the beginning of lunch in Ms. Betzel’s room, I-4. If you are unable to attend the lunch meeting, please come immediately after school.
6. CAFETERIA INFO – Student must show your ID when going through the lunch line.
7. LUNCH BASKETBALL TODAY during 2nd lunch!
8. SPIRIT FRIDAY- Tomorrow, 2/4 is Pajama Day!
9. FRIENDSHIP/VALENTINE GRAMS – Show you care. Send your friends a valentine/friendship gram. Grams go on sale starting today through February 11th. Cost is 25 cents.
10. FRIENDSHIP/VALENTINE DANCE – Bring a friend to our valentine friendship dance on Friday, Feb. 11th. Tickets go on sale starting today through Feb. 11th. Students must have a signed parent permission slip to enter the dance. Cost in advance is $4.00. Cost at the door is $5.00.
PARENT INFORMATION
1. PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – ASB is looking for parents to help chaperone the friendship/valentine dance on February 11th from 5:30-8 p.m. Please let Ms. Morielli know if you are available to help supervise our students. Thank you!
2. 7th-12th GRADE STUDENTS are now required to get a whooping cough immunization before starting the 2011-2012 school year. Make an appointment now for your student(s) to receive this required vaccination.
3. PARENTS – SIGN UP FOR PARENT CONNECTION for Zangle. See your student’s grades, attendance, class assignments. Fill out the form at the following link and return it to the middle school office. Your password will be emailed to you. www.fillmore.k12.ca.us Parent Connection Registration Comment
4. WEBSITE INFO: Our Calendar of Events is posted at the Fillmore Unified School District Website at: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us Once there, you can click on Fillmore Middle School and you will find the calendar of events listed in the upper left corner. You will also find a cafeteria menu and staff email access.
