STUDENT INFORMATION

1. BOYS & GIRLS CLUB TEEN DANCE will take place on Friday, Jan. 5th from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club. Cost is $1.00 for members, $2.00 for non-members.
2. SCHOOL RULES – All students will need your ID cards to get your lunch. If you do not have your ID card, you will be required to go to the end of the line. You can purchase a new ID card for $3.00 in the library.
3. MISS /TEEN GREATER VENTURA USA 2010 PAGEANT – Opening night for sign-ups for those interested will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 9th, 6:30 p.m. at Emily Ritchen Elementary School. For full details, pick up a registration packet located in the front office.
4. WORD OF THE WEEK is Infer – Spell it, pronounce it, define it and use it in a sentence! If you are asked and can do all four tasks, you will get a pizza delivered to you on Friday during lunch. Awards to each grade level. Staff prize: One hours of coverage by Mrs. Godfrey – all staff are eligible to win.
5. GATE hobby fair meetings will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school for the next three weeks so that we can work on our display boards for the hobby fair. New members are welcome to attend this week’s meetings (Jan. 19 and 21). 7th & 8th grade students are still needed. All GATE students are strongly encouraged to attend. See you there!
6. MIGRANT SPEECH TEAM – If you are interested in participating in the Migrant Speech Team, please attend an informational meeting TODAY during first lunch in room G-4. Any sixth grade students interested in participating can stop by after school.
7. MENTOR PROGRAM – January is “National Mentoring Month” and we are asking all Littles/Mentees to stop by the Mentor Room during break or lunch to design a thank you card for your Big/Mentor. Students in the mentor program can come and sign up for the LA Zoo field trip which takes place on Monday, Feb. 15th. Space is limited. Pick up permission slips in the Mentor Room.

1. OUR FMS WEBSITE is now under construction! You can log on at: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us and click on the Middle School. Our office staff and teaching staff along with email links are posted. If you have any ideas on what you would like to see on the site, you can email our Principal Todd Schieferle with your suggestions.
2. PARENTS ARE WELCOME here at Fillmore Middle School. If you wish to come on our campus, please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge. We want you and your student to have a wonderful experience here at FMS!
