STUDENT INFORMATION
1. CONGRATUATIONS to the following winners of the Word of the Week: Victor Prado, Moussa Assphor, Jose Suarez, & Alfredo Lopez! Great job! Mr. Angel Cardenas also defined “infer” and used it in a sentence…congratulations Mr. Cardenas!
2. SCHOOL RULES – Fighting or encouraging a fight will result in a 3-5day suspension and possible notification of the sheriff’s department.
3. A SPECIAL THANK YOU to Dominos Pizza right here in Fillmore! Mr. Hischmeh has generously committed to donating TEN (count ‘em…10) pizzas EVERY FRIDAY for 10 Word of the Week winners! THANK YOU DOMINOS for supporting FMS! Next week the names of 10 students and 1 staff member will be drawn for a chance to win.
4. WORD OF THE WEEK – EVALUATE: To decide the value or amount of something, to judge. (Pronounce, spell, define & use EVALUATE in a sentence…)
5. BOYS & GIRLS CLUB TEEN DANCE will take place on Friday, Feb. 5th from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club. Cost is $1.00 for members, $2.00 for non-members.
6. MISS /TEEN GREATER VENTURA USA 2010 PAGEANT – Opening night for sign-ups for those interested will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 9th, 6:30 p.m. at Emily Ritchen Elementary School. For full details, pick up a registration packet located in the front office.
7. GATE hobby fair meetings will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school for the next three weeks so that we can work on our display boards for the hobby fair. New members are welcome to attend this week’s meetings (Jan. 19 and 21). 7th & 8th grade students are still needed. All GATE students are strongly encouraged to attend. See you there!

2. OUR FMS WEBSITE is now under construction! You can log on at: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us and click on the Middle School. Our office staff and teaching staff along with email links are posted. If you have any ideas on what you would like to see on the site, you can email our Principal Todd Schieferle with your suggestions.
3. PARENTS ARE WELCOME here at Fillmore Middle School. If you wish to come on our campus, please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge. We want you and your student to have a wonderful experience here at FMS!
