STUDENT INFORMATION

1. THE VENTURA ELKS LODGE is sponsoring an essay contest and the theme is “Why I Am Proud to Pledge Allegiance to Our Flag”. The essay should not exceed 250 words and must be typed or legibly printed in ink. The student entering the contest must submit the entry on or before January 10, 2012. All teachers have received a copy of the contest information. Ask your teacher for full details or pick up a flyer in the front office. There are prizes for 1st through 3rd place which include a $1000, $500, or $250 US savings bonds! Practice your writing skills and enter the contest!
2. SCHOOL RULES – Once you come on campus in the morning, you may not leave campus. If you are a bus rider, once the bus drops you off, you must stay on campus.
3. TOY DRIVE – Show your school spirit and help the needy this holiday season. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to your 1st period class. Help show that FMS has the holiday spirit!
4. MARK YOUR CALENDARS – Winter break runs Monday, December 19 through Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Students return to school on Wednesday, January 4, 2012.

PARENT INFORMATION

1. SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL MEETING Monday, December 5th at 3:30 p.m. in the Media Center. See attached agenda.
2. PARENTS – SIGN UP FOR PARENT CONNECTION for Zangle. See your student’s grades, attendance, class assignments. You may access the required form at our website: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us Click on the “For Parents” drop down, Zangle Parent Connection, Registration Form. Print and complete the form and have your student deliver it to the front office. Once processed you will receive a PIN number for accessing your student’s information.
