STUDENT INFORMATION

1. FMS CITIZENSHIP & ACADEMIC AWARDS will take place on Wednesday, 11/5 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. Invitations were mailed home to students receiving awards. If you did not receive an invitation, check the list posted on the Attendance office window. If your name is on the list, be sure to come to this fun event! Dessert will be provided!
2. DOOR CONTEST WINNERS: In the first category: 1st place: Mrs. Merrill’s class; 2nd place: Mrs. Nichols’ class; 3rd place: Mrs. Cone’s class. In our new second category: Students Choice Award: Congratulations to Jasmin Gonzalez, a student who decorated Mr. Hood’s door.
3. SCHOOL RULES – Theft or attempted theft of school or private property will result in a 3-day suspension.
4. TRIVIA CONTEST – Part I: In our November newsletter you will find a trivia contest called “Guess Who”. Guess Who is the name of a staff member at our school. The first 10 students who have all or most of the correct answers receive a prize. You have two weeks after your receive this newsletter to turn your guess in to Ms. Morielli in room G-1. Deadline is November 14. Good Luck!
5. WASHINGTON D.C. – Did you want to go to Washington D.C. but didn’t know how you could afford it? Well, here’s your chance. There’s one free trip available to go to Washington D.C. Any 7th or 8th grade student can apply for the scholarship. See Miss Beal in K-3 or Mrs. Cone in K-1 for the scholarship application. Complete the scholarship form and write an essay about why you want to go on the trip. Turn your form and essay in to Miss Beal or Mrs. Cone by Friday, 11/14/08.
6. YEARBOOKS are now $40.00. This is the last quarter to get your name on your book and the price will go up, so get yours now!

1. ANY PARENT who wishes to participate in our school’s newspaper by writing an interesting article or poetry, sharing a favorite recipe, or submitting photos of our school events, please contact Ms. Morielli in room G-1 or email her at: amorielli@fillmore.k12.ca.us
