STUDENT INFORMATION

1. MAKE UP PICTURES are taking place TODAY. Teachers have been given a list of students who missed our first picture day and MUST have their picture taken. 6th Graders will have their pictures taken during Per. 3; 7th graders during Per. 4; and 8th graders during Per. 5. If you purchased pictures the first time but you are unhappy with the pictures, you need to bring the picture packet and give it to the picture people, and they will take new pictures. Students wishing to purchase pictures today MUST have their picture money with them.
2. SCHOOL RULES – CrimeStoppers offers a $50 reward for information regarding a crime. Student will remain anonymous. Give your information to Mr. Schieferle or Mrs. Godfrey.
3. STUDENTS & PARENTS – College is possible! The largest national organization supporting Hispanic higher education is coming to Santa Paula High School on Oct. 1, 2008 at the Santa Paula High School Auditorium. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund invites you to attend its 1st college conference in the county. Presentation will be given in Spanish and English on: College Admissions, Financial Aid, & Scholarship opportunities. Light dinner will be served for families that pre-register beginning at 5:00 p.m., raffle, and College Fair. Please RSVP to Norma Magana at: nmagana@bbsvc.org or call (805) 910-9317.
4. YEARBOOK INFO
 Attention all students! Now is your chance to participate in the yearbook drawing contest. Draw a school spirited picture and turn it in to Miss Beal in K-3 by Fri. 10/3. Pictures need to be on an 8 ½ x 11” paper and drawn in black and white. If your picture is selected, you will win a free yearbook!
 All 8th graders – Only 50 spots left for baby pictures. Get your baby picture in now to Miss Beal in K-3.
5. DANCE - Our first dance of the school year is coming this October 3. ASB will start selling dance tickets today on the pavilion stage. The cost is $4.00 in advance and $5.00 at the door. Parent permission slips, and school ID are required to attend. The theme of our dance is neon lights, glow in the dark. We will have “glow in the dark” items for sale. The dance runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
6. STUDENT ACTIVITIES
 LOOKING FOR SCHOOL NEWS – Any student who wishes to participate in our school’s newsletter by writing an interesting article or submitting poetry, please contact Ms. Morielli in room G-1, Mrs. Wade in room I-1, or Kiana Hope in the ASB room.
 DEAR JEAN MARIE - Are you struggling with a problem? Concerned about a friend? Arguing with mom or dad? Having a difficult time at school? Confused and looking for a little help? Write to DEAR JEAN MARIE. Share your situation and let DEAR JEAN MARIE give you some advice. You do not need to sign your name so you can feel safe sharing your problem. Please write out your problem and drop it in the brown envelope on the outside of Mrs. Wyand’s office door. The envelope is marked CONFIDENTIAL AND ANONYMOUS. If your situation is selected, DEAR JEAN MARIE will respond to you in our monthly issue of the school newspaper coming soon to our middle school.
