STUDENT INFORMATION

1. ASSEMBLY SCHEDULE TODAY – 8th graders attend the assembly from 8-9:00 a.m., 7th graders from 9:05-10:05 a.m., 6th graders from 10:15-11:15 a.m. See the schedules posted in your classrooms for the full day schedule. No advisory today.
2. MENTOR – Any student interested in having a high school mentor or a high school skateboarding buddy please come see Norma or Mario in the mentor room during break or lunch.
3. BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT takes place on Thursday, 9/10/09. From 5:30-6:30 we will be selling pizza and soda. At 6:30 all parents will meet in the gym for a short presentation which will be followed by visits to each of your classrooms.
4. MARK YOUR CALENDARS – No school on Monday, 9/7/09 Labor Day

1. PARENT MEET & GREET – Our first Meet & Greet is scheduled for NEXT MONTH, SEPTEMBER 25 FROM 7:30-8:30 a.m. in room C-1. Come and meet our Principal and Assistant Principal, and Counselors!

3. TRAFFIC CONGESTION – Just a few ideas to help make dropping off/picking up your student a little easier: 1) Arriving before 7:30 a.m. is best as there is very little traffic. If you come after 7:30 a.m., be prepared for traffic congestion at 1st and A Street. 2) Consider dropping off/picking up your student at Yucca & 2nd Street (north side of campus). There are numerous gates that the students can use to enter our campus. 3) For safety reasons, we do not want students walking through our parking lot. If you choose to drive them to school and enter our parking lot, please drop them off at the island between the parking lot and the front of the school.
4. CHECK OUTS – If you need to check out your student for any reason, we would like to encourage you to schedule as many appointments as possible to take place after school ends at 2:50 p.m. There are times when this will not be possible. We are hoping that you will try to avoid checking students out during their Advisory period which runs from 10:55-11:20 a.m. EVERY DAY. Your help is appreciated!
5. PARENTS ARE WELCOME here at Fillmore Middle School. If you wish to come on our campus, please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge. We want you and your student to have a wonderful experience here at FMS!
