STUDENT INFORMATION

1. THE FILLMORE UNIFIED DISTRICT board policy provides a process for complaints alleging discrimination of a program or a program’s failure to comply with state or federal law. The policy protects the privacy rights of the complainant and prohibits retaliation for filing a complaint. Complaints must be written on “Program Discrimination/Legal Violation Complaint Form” available from the Assistant Superintendent and filed within six months of the incident or when it became known. Help in filling out the form will be provided if needed. All other types of complaints, including complaints regarding personnel or instructional materials follow other board policies. The process for registering other complaints is: 1) if the complaint concerns a teacher, first contact the teacher. 2) if the complaints are not resolved by the teacher, contact the principal of the school, then the district superintendent, and finally the Board of Education. Complete copies of these policies are available through the superintendent’s office.
2. ADVISORY INFO – This year Advisory follows 3rd period from 10:55-11:20 a.m.
3. LUNCH INFO – This semester, 6th graders go to 1st lunch from 11:20-12:00 and 7/8th graders go to 2nd lunch from 12:15-12:55.

PARENT INFORMATION

1. TRAFFIC CONGESTION – Just a few ideas to help make dropping off/picking up your student a little easier: 1) Arriving before 7:30 a.m. is best as there is very little traffic. If you come after 7:30 a.m., be prepared for traffic congestion at 1st and A Street. 2) Consider dropping off/picking up your student at Yucca & 2nd Street (north side of campus). There are numerous gates that the students can use to enter our campus. 3) For safety reasons, we do not want students walking through our parking lot. If you choose to drive them to school and enter our parking lot, please drop them off at the island between the parking lot and the front of the school.
2. CHECK OUTS – If you need to check out your student for any reason, we would like to encourage you to schedule as many appointments as possible to take place after school ends at 2:50 p.m. There are times when this will not be possible. We are hoping that you will try to avoid checking students out during their Advisory period which runs from 10:55-11:20 a.m. EVERY DAY. Your help is appreciated!
3. PARENTS ARE WELCOME here at Fillmore Middle School. If you wish to come on our campus, please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge. We want you and your student to have a wonderful experience here at FMS!
