STUDENT INFORMATION
1. TODAY is Pride In America Day! Enjoy the activities, be respectful and if you see a veteran, tell them thank you for serving our country!
2. SCHOOL RULES – All students should stay within the blue lines at lunch. If you are past the blue lines, you may receive an administrative detention. Thanks for following the rules!
3. 8th GRADERS – If you are interested in performing during promotion (sing or play instrument) see Mr. Godfrey TODAY during our Pride in America Day celebration or Tuesday, 5/31 after school. If you are interested in making a speech during promotion, see Miss Betzel in room I-4.
4. PROMOTION – 8th grade promotion takes place on Thursday, June 2nd at 11:00 a.m. Students are encouraged to wear nice school clothing – nothing formal. Our dress code will be strictly enforced. Also, no balloons will be allowed in the gym so be sure to share that information with your parents. 6th & 7th graders wishing to attend the promotion ceremony must be checked out by an adult through the front office.
5. LIBRARY - All library and textbook materials are due! No more library books may be checked out. Everyone did a great job yesterday; there are 885 books still checked out. It is up to you to return the books. There are a lot of field trips scheduled so plan accordingly! Thank you for a wonderful year!
6. NO SCHOOL MONDAY, May 30, 2011 - Memorial Day holiday.
7. MIMIMUM DAYS Tuesday, May 31 through Thursday, June 2, 2011. All students will be released at 12:15 p.m. Bus riders will board busses at 12:45 p.m. Last day of school is Thursday, June 2nd.
8. YEARBOOKS ARE HERE! Cost is $50, cash only, no checks. First come, first served. See Miss Beal in K-3 to purchase a yearbook.
9. LIFETOUCH PICTURES – Students who received their promotion and/or Spring pictures need to return the pictures, money due, or a combination of both to the office.
PARENT INFORMATION
1. NOMINATIONS for the 2011-2012 Site Council and ELAC members are being accepted. Please call 524-6070 or email mecklund@fillmore.k12.ca.us if you would like to nominate someone to be on the 2011-12 Site Council ballot. Please include 2 or 3 lines about the nominee’s parent involvement activities.
2. PARENTS – SIGN UP FOR PARENT CONNECTION for Zangle. See your student’s grades, attendance, class assignments. Fill out the form at the following link and return it to the middle school office. http://www.fillmore.k12.ca.us/ Click on Fillmore Middle School, then click on Parent Connection. Once you fill out the form turn it in to the school and your request will be processed. Once processed, you will receive your PIN number via email.
3. 7TH -12TH GRADE STUDENTS are now required to get a whooping cough immunization (TDAP) before starting the 2011-2012 school year. Make an appointment now for your student(s) to receive this required vaccination.
