STUDENT INFORMATION
1. HIGHER EDUCATION FAMILY EVENT – You and your parents are invited to this event on Thursday, March 11th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Fillmore High School. This event is designed to help you make informed decisions about education and career paths after high school. There will be many colleges participating in this event.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Sexual Harassment/Sexual Battery – Federal & State laws make sexual harassment illegal, whether it involves boys, girls, opposite-sex or same-sex situations. Some examples of sexual harassment are calling out obscene names, passing dirty notes, calling someone at home, telling dirty stories, staring at a person’s body in a sexual way, purposely bumping into someone or standing in their way so they can’t pass, writing graffiti or starting rumors about someone’s sexual orientation or behavior. Touching someone in a sexual way (pinching, touching or grabbing) is considered sexual battery. This is serious and the harasser can be arrested by police and expelled from school.
3. ATTENTION ALL 8th GRADERS – Do you want to say goodbye to your 8th grade friends? Do you want to wish them well going to the high school or just tell them they are special? If so, take the forms handed out last week or pick one up from Miss Beal in K-3 to have your words printed in the school yearbook. Two lines for $5 or four lines for $10. Final deadline is Monday morning, March 8th. You may get your form at our lunch table or K-3 with Miss Beal and K-2 with Miss Lindemann.
4. BASKETBALL POTLUCK will take place TODAY, March 5th from 4:30-7:00 p.m. Let Coach Alcantar know if you plan to attend and what you plan to bring. ALSO, this Sunday is our basketball All-Star game. Girls play at 9:00 a.m., boys play at 10:00 a.m. Please let your coach know if you plan to attend this game.
5. DIABOLOS are for sale for $20.00 in the front office. Diabolos will only be sold after school in the office. TODAY is the last day to purchase a diabolo.
PARENT INFORMATION
1. PARKING LOT CLOSURE INFO – Please plan ahead. The FMS parking lot will be closed on the morning of Friday, 3/12 for our 8th grade Civil War Living History activity. There will be no cars allowed to park in the parking lot that morning. There will be one loop in the gate and out of the gate to drop off students. If you can drop your son/daughter off before the stop sign at First Street and have them walk in to school, this will ease congestion into the school.
2. OUR FMS WEBSITE is now under construction! You can log on at: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us and click on the Middle School. Our office staff and teaching staff along with email links are posted.
3. PARENTS ARE WELCOME here at Fillmore Middle School. If you wish to come on our campus, please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge. We want you and your student to have a wonderful experience here at FMS!
