STUDENT INFORMATION
1. ASSEMBLY TODAY entitled “Someone Like Me”. 8th graders will attend from 8-9:00 a.m. and 6th & 7th graders will attend from 9:05-10:05 a.m. NO ADVISORY TODAY.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Possession or being under the influence of any controlled substance, alcoholic beverage or intoxicant of any kind will result in a 3-5 day suspension and possible expulsion.
3. NO SCHOOL on Monday and Tuesday, 11/10 & 11/11.
4. FMS RUMMAGE SALE – Fundraiser rummage sale for the Washington D.C. trip takes place tomorrow, 11/8 from 8-11:00 a.m. at the District Office lawn area on Sespe Ave.
5. CLUB SUCCESS – If you were invited to Club Success, please turn in your permission slip as soon as possible.
6. NEW ROTATION (E) starts on Wednesday, 11/12/08. You will begin your day with period 5 followed by periods 6, 1, 2, 3, & 4.
7. CONGRATULATIONS to students who have won Art honors so far this year: Hispanic Heritage Awards – Levi Craig, Amanda Vassaur & Jaime Valdovinos; Door Design – Jasmin Gonzalez. Great job students!
8. TRIVIA CONTEST – Part I: In our November newsletter you will find a trivia contest called “Guess Who”. Guess Who is the name of a staff member at our school. The first 10 students who have all or most of the correct answers receive a prize. You have two weeks after your receive this newsletter to turn your guess in to Ms. Morielli in room G-1. Deadline is November 14. Good Luck!
9. WASHINGTON D.C. – Did you want to go to Washington D.C. but didn’t know how you could afford it? Well, here’s your chance. There’s one free trip available to go to Washington D.C. Any 7th or 8th grade student can apply for the scholarship. See Miss Beal in K-3 or Mrs. Cone in K-1 for the scholarship application. Complete the scholarship form and write an essay about why you want to go on the trip. Turn your form and essay in to Miss Beal or Mrs. Cone by Friday, 11/14/08.
10. YEARBOOKS are now $40.00. This is the last quarter to get your name on your book and the price will go up, so get yours now!
