STUDENT INFORMATION

1. WASHINGTON D.C. – Did you want to go to Washington D.C. but didn’t know how you could afford it? Well, here’s your chance. There’s one free trip available to go to Washington D.C. Any 7th or 8th grade student can apply for the scholarship. See Miss Beal in K-3 or Mrs. Cone in K-1 for the scholarship application. Complete the scholarship form and write an essay about why you want to go on the trip. Turn your form and essay in to Miss Beal or Mrs. Cone by Friday, 11/14/08.
2. SCHOOL RULES – Fighting or attempting to cause physical injury to anyone will result in a 3-5 day suspension and notification of the Sheriff’s Dept.
3. TONIGHT is the Fillmore vs. Santa Paula high school football game. Due to the fact that it falls on Halloween, anyone dressed in costumes that are “Middle School Age “and above WILL NOT be allowed into the game. Fillmore High apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but hopes you will understand that it is important to create a safe environment for all that attend.
4. YEARBOOKS are now $40.00. This is the last quarter to get your name on your book and the price will go up, so get yours now!
5. RED RIBBON & HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES
Friday, Oct. 31
- HALLOWEEN COSTUME – Wear your Halloween costume to school. Please
do not wear a mask.
- HAUNTED HOUSE – Open during both lunches. Cost is $2.00
- DOOR CONTEST – See possible theme messages on the Post It Handout in
your classroom to help the class with ideas. The top four winners of the door
contest win: 1st Place: Skateboard keychain; 2nd Place: Popcorn; 3rd Place:
Goodie Pouch

PARENT INFORMATION

1. MEET & GREET – Come to our next “Meet & Greet” TODAY from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in room C-1. We will have fresh coffee from Starbucks and yummy pastries. We will be chatting about PTSA, 40 Developmental Assets, and resources in the community. Hope to see you here!
2. RUMMAGE SALE – This Saturday, 11/1 there will be a rummage sale fundraiser for students who are going to Washington D.C. Any student/parent going on the trip who wishes to participate needs to bring their items for sale to the yard in front of the district office that morning from 8-11:00 p.m.
3. ANY PARENT who wishes to participate in our school’s newspaper by writing an interesting article or poetry, sharing a favorite recipe, or submitting photos of our school events, please contact Ms. Morielli in room G-1 or email her at: amorielli@fillmore.k12.ca.us
