Elizabeth Theresa Beckstrand, 67, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend, passed away on May 11, 2026, leaving a legacy of love and kindness. She was born on October 12, 1958, in Santa Paula, California, the youngest daughter of Alfonso and Margarita Romero. Raised in the close-knit community of Fillmore, California, Elizabeth grew into a caring and compassionate individual whose roots in her hometown shaped her generous spirit.
In 1995, Elizabeth married her devoted husband, Daryl Beckstrand. Together, they made their home in the mountains of Frazier Park, California, creating a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Her home was always open to friends and family—a place where all felt welcome and cherished.
Elizabeth was known for her honesty, resilience, and loyalty. She deeply valued her family, treasured time with loved ones, and nurtured lifelong friendships. Her presence was a guiding light in the lives of everyone she touched.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Margarita Romero; her brother, Arturo Romero; and her sister, Susan Preciado (Romero).
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Daryl Beckstrand; her daughter, Diana Marie Sawyer, her husband, Steven Sawyer, and their children, Maya Thompson, Madison Thompson, and Finley Sawyer; her daughter, Amber Natividad Acosta-Campbell, her husband, Will Campbell, and their children, Orion, Slade, Rhyder, and Harper Campbell; her son, Steve Andrew Acosta, and his fiancée, Janet Nelson; her sisters, Martha Romero, Irma Murray and her husband, Greg Murray, and Graciela Romero Rodriguez and her husband, Ramon Rodriguez; her sister-in-law, Dolores Ramos, wife of her late brother Arturo; her brother-in-law, Ernie Preciado, husband of her late sister Susan Preciado; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Though she has departed this life, Elizabeth’s laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love will remain with those who knew her. May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to all. Rest in peace, Momma. You will be forever missed and eternally loved.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30am with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:00am Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Fillmore, CA.
