Elisa Jimenez Alcocer

Elisa Jimenez Alcocer of Piru, CA passed away on May 13, 2010 in the Santa Paula Hospital at the age of 84. Elisa was born in Los Angeles, CA to Elena & Augustin Jimenez on October 28, 1925. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Gonzalez Alcocer, brothers Ramon Jimenez and Augustin Jimenez, sisters Belia Casarez and Maria Elena Rosales, and grandson Felix Oseguera Jr.

Elisa is survived by her son, Joseph Alcocer and wife Josphine of Piru, CA; daughter, Olivia Magallon and husband Joe Magallon of Fillmore, CA; daughter, Sonia Oseguera and husband Felix Oseguera residing in Orcutt, CA.

She will be missed dearly by her grandchildren; Joseph Alcocer and wife Julia of Ventura, CA; Sunshine Gray and husband Jeremy of Moorpark, CA; Mike Alcocer of Piru; Joe Magallon and wife April of Bakersfield, CA; Crystal Magallon of Fillmore, CA; Johnny Magallon and wife Clarissa of Bakersfield, CA; Nicole Oseguera of Orcutt, CA; Nathan Oseguera of Orcutt, CA; Briana Oseguera of Orcutt, CA.. There are 18 great-grandchildren that have been blessed with a gift of having spent time with their great-grandma Elisa.

She also leaves her sister Carolina Perez and husband Gabriel Perez of Westminster, CA and brother Roberto Jimenez and wife Delia of Pomona, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elisa had been a resident of Piru for over 60 years. Elisa worked for the Piru Citrus Association and for different nurseries and ranches in the area. When her husband passed away in 1967 she stayed at home and dedicated her life to raising her family. Elisa was a good cook and used to make her own cheese and bread at home. She liked the outdoors and enjoyed trips to Lake Piru and to the beach. She had an appreciation for nature and liked gardening and taking walks. Elisa loved shopping and was always ready for an outing to any store. Elisa was happiest when family came to visit and gather in her home.

We will hold close to our hearts the memories that we each have of Elisa. We thank her for her unconditional love and for always making us feel welcomed in her home.

The Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 7:30p.m. at San Salvador Mission Church in Piru. The Funeral Mass Service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010, at 9:00a.m. also at San Salvador Mission Church, 4045 E. Center Street, Piru, CA. Burial will take place immediately thereafter at Piru Cemetery. A potluck reception will follow funeral services at the San Salvador Church hall for family and friends.
